In-Person Symposium and Retreat at the Garrison Institute: March 2025
One-Day Symposium and Five-Day Retreat at the Garrison Institute in New York
Day-Long Symposium :: March 7, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time
A day-long symposium to explore and celebrate the spiritual legacy of Fr. Thomas Keating: Trappist monk, enlightened spiritual master, founder of the Centering Prayer movement, and a pillar of contemplative inter-spiritual dialogue. The symposium will weave together teaching, practice, panel discussions, and provocative immersion sessions as we dive deeply into Fr. Thomas’s prophetic vision of Oneness as both an inner state of consciousness and an outer pathway of planetary healing. → Learn more here
Optional Retreat to follow, the evening of March 7 through the afternoon of March 12, co-led by Cynthia Bourgeault and David Frenette.
Five-Day Retreat :: March 7-12, 2025
In this five-day silent retreat, Cynthia will teach from her newly published book, Thomas Keating: The Making of a Modern Christian Mystic, in a deep dive into Thomas Keating’s final visionary insights on Christian nonduality and planetary Oneness. Joining her will be longtime Centering Prayer colleague David Frenette, bringing his own complementary insight into Unity Consciousness and contemplative service. → Learn more here

Cynthia Bourgeault’s new book about Thomas Keating available November 26, 2024
Available November 26, 2024, Cynthia Bourgeault’s new book, Thomas Keating: The Making of a Modern Mystic, is a much-anticipated portrait of Thomas Keating’s remarkable evolution during the last decades of his life into a fully realized modern-day Christian mystic. This book has rave reviews from Richard Rohr, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Rami Shapiro, Ilia Delio and others.
David Frenette said in his review: “As a close student and friend of Thomas Keating’s for thirty-five years, I was exhilarated reading this lively and profound exploration of his journey into unity consciousness, and grateful the world has the opportunity to glimpse the inner life, struggles, and spiritual evolution of this extraordinary soul. A must-read for Centering Prayer practitioners in navigating the farther, subtler terrain of their path and for anyone seeking a model of embodied Christian nonduality. Cynthia has given Thomas, and the world, a tremendous gift with this masterpiece of modern mysticism.” (author of The Path of Centering Prayer: Deepening Your Experience of God)
